Client’s feedback

“It would take a team of two people a week of hard work to finish, and it would also be dangerous for a person to be on the top of the greenhouse with uneven coverage. With the drone, the whole job was done in less than half a day—it was much safer for the operators and the coating came out perfectly even.”

Greenhouse Roof Whitewashing with Agricultural Drone Technology

Greenhouse roof whitewashing is an essential seasonal task that helps regulate internal temperatures, manage UV exposure, and create better growing conditions for crops. However, traditional whitewashing methods can be time-consuming, labour-intensive, and costly, often requiring ladders, scaffolding, elevated work platforms, or large manual crews.

To make the process faster, safer, and more efficient, our operation team deployed the XAG P100 Pro agricultural drone to complete a greenhouse roof whitewashing operation with precise and uniform coverage. Using RTK positioning, autonomous flight planning, and remote-control operation, the drone was able to follow accurate flight paths and apply the whitewash evenly across the roof surface.

Compared with traditional methods, agricultural drone technology offers a clear advantage when working across large greenhouse structures and hard-to-reach areas. The XAG P100 Pro can access elevated roof sections safely without putting workers at height, helping reduce safety risks while improving application accuracy.

The operation was completed by a two-person drone team in just a few hours of flight time, significantly reducing the need for manual labour. With precise spraying and controlled application, the drone also helped minimise material waste, ensuring the whitewash was applied where it was needed without excessive overspray.

The result was a clean, consistent, and evenly whitewashed greenhouse roof, completed faster, safer, and more cost-effectively than conventional methods. For greenhouse operators, agricultural drones provide a practical solution for improving operational efficiency, reducing labour requirements, lowering material usage, and handling challenging application areas with greater precision.
