XAG Australia's new R200 pairs a 240 L sprayer system with RTK-guided autonomy, letting one operator treat narrow rows and sloping blocks from outside the spray zone.

‍

SmarterSpraying. Better Yields. Less Labour.

‍

XAG Australia has launched the XAG R200, an autonomous, electric agricultural rover designed for protected cropping, orchards and vineyards. Built to spray structured, high-value crops with a single operator working from a safe distance, the R200 is aimed at growers facing tight labour and growing pressure to apply inputs more precisely.

‍

The R200 is a six-wheel-drive platform with a lightweight aluminium chassis, independent suspension and a body just 800 mm wide, allowing it to work narrow rows where larger machinery can struggle. The R200 has a maximum gradeability of 20% and an IPX6 protection rating for water resistance.

Builtaround the spray system

‍

At the heart of the machine is the RevoSpray system: a 240L tank feeding four JetSprayers through four flexible impeller pumps, with a combined flow of up to 16 L/min. High-speed centrifugal nozzles atomise liquid into droplets that growers can adjust between 60 and 200 microns, while ducted fans carry the spray up to 7 metres per side. A liquid-level sensor tracks what is left in the tank so operators can plan refills.

‍

Whether you’re managing berries, macadamias, vineyards or protected cropping, the XAG R200 allows one operator to perform accurate spraying while remaining outside the spray zone. The JetSprayers can be manually repositioned for multi-angle, multi-direction or single-side application, letting growers tailor coverage to crop structure. Spray volume adjusts automatically as travel speed changes, helping keep the application rate consistent. This targeted approach can help reduce pesticide and water use.

Planonce, repeat with confidence

‍

Navigation is RTK-guided. During an initial pass, RealTerra onboard mapping records the block and crop rows, which the R200 then uses to plan its routes. Cruise Mode holds a steady speed between 0.1 and 1.5 m/s, Path Tracking follows the planned crop-row paths, and Repeat Mode records and replays completed routes, cutting setup time for recurring seasonal spray programs.

‍

Keepingoperators out of the spray zone

‍

Operators control the R200 with the SRC 5 smart remote, which pairs a 7-inch, 1,200-nit touchscreen with a live HD camera feed offering up to a 150-degree view around the machine. An AI safety assistance system detects pedestrians, alerting the operator at 4 metres and automatically stopping the rover at 2 metres. Because the operator can stay outside the application area, the R200 also reduces exposure during application*.

‍

“Polytunnels are where it really shines. Atjust 800mm wide, it runs down the leg row without a problem, and it covers bothleg rows in a single pass. I tested that with water-sensitive paper placedthrough the canopy on both sides, and the paper showed great coverage on bothleg rows in single pass. That means one trip not two, saving time and labourevery time you spray.” – Matthew Fatouris, Agricultural SolutionsSpecialist, XAG Australia

Oneplatform, many crops

‍

The R200 is designed for orchard fruit and tree nuts such as macadamias and almonds, as well as berries and cherries, nurseries and protected cropping, including greenhouse cucumbers. The platform is also expandable, with modular add-ons for other ground-based tasks, such as transport and targeted weeding, subject to attachment and regional availability.

‍

As with any battery-electric solution, results depend on the job. Runtime per charge varies with load, terrain, speed and spray settings, and spray performance varies with crop type, growth stage, wind conditions and setup. Our consultation process includes configuration advice and an application suitability assessment for each property.
